Paolo Rocco Viscontini
Electrical engineer. Founder and current President of ITALIA SOLARE association. A pioneer of photovoltaics since the early 1990s, in 2001 he founded Enerpiont, one of the leading companies in the sector. Today Rocco Viscontini manages Enerpoint’s photovoltaic systems and collaborates as a strategic consultant for some of the most significant and innovative international photovoltaic companies.
Luca Lombroso is AMPRO Meteorologist, lecturer and writer. He is a meteorologist consultant, among others, for Bologna Airport and Santa Claus. He is a meteorologist at the Geophysical Observatory of the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari”, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.He is president of the Emilia Romagna Weather Association (ERmeteo aps). TV personality and meteorologist, after the successes at Che Tempo Che Fa, Rai Tre from 2003 to 2007 currently on TV collaborates with Licia Colò on TV 2000. He is the author of several books, the last “Hello Fossil climate change resilience and future carbon post” Artestampa Editions He participated in many UN “climate summits” including the historic COP 21 in which the Paris Agreement was approved. Luca Lombroso eat local and organic food, have photovoltaics, ride a bicycle and travel with a hybrid car.
Guido Agostinelli is Senior Industry Specialist at IFC, where he deals with the corporation’s investments in the solar sector and in distributed energy solutions. He created investment opportunities and worked on projects for the World Bank Group totaling more than $2 billion. Physicist by training, he has held managing positions and served in the advisory boards of leading international R&D institutes such as IMEC and CSEM. Prior to joining IFC in 2014, Guido has been managing partner at Syntegra Solar, a business advisory firm, and senior partner in the venture capital team at Good Energies, a fund focused on renewable energies that backed some of the most successful IPOs in the solar sector in the late 2000s. Guido holds a PhD in engineering from the University of Gent and an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan.

Gianni Pietro Girotto
Trevisano by birth and Roman by adoption since 2013, when he was elected Senator of the Italian Republic with the Five Star Movement winning a second term in 2018, when he was appointed as President of the 10th Commission (Industry, Commerce, Tourism). Enrolled in many associations working in humanitarian and environmental sectors, he is vegan for consistency since 2003 and he no longer uses electricity from coal, oil and nuclear power, preferring the renewables. As President of the 10th Commission he is promoting a lot of different activities focusing on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility.
Paolo Arrigoni, Senator of Lega, is a Quaestor of the Senate and a member of the Territory, Environment and Environmental Assets Commission. He is also a member of the Parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic (COPASIR). A graduate in electronic engineering from the Politecnico of Milan and enrolled in the Register of Engineers since 1994, he worked on the design and consultancy of electrical and automation systems for the civil, tertiary and industrial sectors. He was city councilor and councilor of Calolziocorte (Lecco), where he was elected mayor in 2003, remaining in office for two terms until 2013. From 2004 to 2014 he was a councilor in the Province of Lecco and from 2009 he was the majority leader for the Lega. He was elected Senator for the first time in 2013 in the Lombardy constituency, reconfirmed in 2018. He is the coordinator of the Energy Department of Lega.
Gian Battista Zorzoli
G.B. Zorzoli has decades of experience in the energy and environment area. A former professor at the Politecnico of Milan and a former member of the Board of directors of Enea and Enel, he is author of several books on energy and environment (the latter, “Quale mercato elettrico?”, was published in 2017). He is the current chairman of the Association Coordinamento FREE, whose members are associations promoting either energy efficiency or renewables.

Matteo Mazzoni is senior analyst on EU power and carbon at ICIS. He joined ICIS in 2018 after nearly a decade as a senior analyst working on power, carbon and natural gas. Matteo delivers market analysis on the European power and carbon markets. He’s responsible for product and business development of power&carbon analytics.
Holding a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pavia, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pisa, he has a 10 years experience in the Italian Energy Regulator. Currently he is director of the Wholesale Energy Markets and Environmental Sustainability Department and head of Energy Division. He was previously Chairman and CEO of GME and acted as Chairman of Europex. In his previous experience he worked as consultant in a private company.
Maurizio Delfanti graduated in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pavia, where he received his doctorate in 1999. Since 2001 he has taught at the Milan Polytechnic, since 2010 as an associate professor and since 2016 as full professor at the Department of Energy. For the Polytechnic, he played the role of Energy Manager, and was delegated by the Rector for issues related to energy management. He has carried out numerous consultancy/research activities at national and European level on the regulation of electrical systems, in particular Setting quality of service, management of electrical systems in the presence of renewable energy sources, access to the market for the dispatching service of new actors, even in aggregate form. Since March 2019, he has been acting as Chief Executive Officer of RSE (Research Energy System), the research organization of the GSE group, which operates in the field of System Research, as well as support of national institutions in the field of energy.
Michele Governatori, 47, is Director of Public Affairs for Axpo Italia and President of European Energy Retailers. Before joining the Axpo group in 2004, he has been working for Eni, Edison, and for the Italian state-owned Single Buyer of electricity. After his BA cum laude in Economics at Bocconi University in 1996, he completed the Master in Management of the Energy and Environment Industry of Eni Corporate University. Since 2009 he is author of Derrick, a blog and radio broadcast on Energy and Environment for all-news Radio Radicale (http://derrickenergia.blogspot.it/ – in Italian). From 2013 to 2017 he has been President of the Italian Energy Traders and Wholesalers Association (AIGET) and since 2018 he is President of European Energy Retailers, a network of European associations of non-incumbent energy operators.
Simona Ciancio has been working for Terna since 2009. Currently she is the head of the Market Regulation team. Her team is focused on electricity market design and monitoring and has regular contacts with institutional stakeholders regarding market regulation. Until 2009 Simona worked for the Italian Power Exchange where she was actively involved in the design of the Day Ahead and the Forward Markets and in the definition of respective market rules. Prior to joining the Italian power exchange she spent two years in an Italian bank performing risk management activities.
Mariangela Di Napoli
Mariangela Di Napoli is the head of regulatory for e-distribuzione SpA, the Enel group company that manages 85% of the national distribution network and serves over 31 million customers; deals with all issues related to the regulation of distribution and measurement, including service continuity, connections, unbundling and innovative regulation. Managerial engineer, she worked in Accenture in the Utilities sector before joining the Enel Group in the Network Business Unit and then as Executive Assistant to the Director of the Infrastructure and Networks Division. She is also member of the Policy Committee of the European association E-DSO for smart grids and of the Networks Working Group of Elettricità Futura.
Senior Technical Service Manager Italy & Brazil, Jinko Solar Srl. Since 2001, Antonio Ruta has always been in photovoltaic energy. Founding member of RED2002 srl, then acquired by Phoenix Solar AG, in the position of technical director, he has developed projects of photovoltaic systems since the time before incentives, helping to promote the development of sustainable energies in Italy. He later held the role of Sales Manager Italy of Evergreen Solar and then of Canadian Solar. In 2011 he became head of the renewable energy department of the Alberta Group in Malta. In his role as Senior Technical Service Manager, Antonio is the Italian technical reference point, from support during sales and design to the management of any complaints and coordinates the technical activities in Italy with the support and guidance of the technical department of the group based in Shanghai. Antonio graduated in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Energy, at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
After completing a PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge, UK in 1991, Stephan Padlewski joined DuPont de Nemours where he has primarily been involved in new technology and market development initiatives in the electronics industry, with applications ranging from printed circuit boards, integrated circuitry packaging, Organic Light Emitting Diodes and photovoltaics. Stephan is based in Geneva, Switzerland where he leads the DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions business development & strategic marketing activities across the EMEA region.
Stefano G. Alberici
Stefano G. Alberici got his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico of Turin. After having spent his career beginning in Nuclear Energy production technology, working on Fusion Reactor gas-material interaction, he has diverted his career towards the Renewables in 2006, when he’s joined EAG Labs London (UK), working as base cell characterisation Scientist for 4 years, working on PV cells of novel semiconductor materials. He has joined SunPower Corp, US PV Module manufacturer as Technical Training Manger EMEA in 2010. He has then joined Ingeteam Srl in 2018 as technical-commercial support as Pre-Sales Engineer.
Electronics engineer, he has twenty years of experience in the business association sector. Former official of the Energy & Utilities sector of Confartigianato Imprese and general manager of APER (no.w Electricity Futura), since 2013 he is CEO and founding partner of PILA SAS, a company based in Como specialized in strategic-directional advisoring, regulatory affairs and relations public with reference to the following sectors: renewable energies, green economy, digital energy, sustainable.
Vice-president of ITALIA SOLARE. Andrea operates in the photovoltaic field from the 1st Conto Energia (2005). In 2007 he became Commercial and Marketing Director of Ecostream Itlay S.r.l., a company dedicated to the construction of photovoltaic systems. In 2009 he coordinates the MBO of Ecostream Italy which becomes Making Energy S.p.A. of which Andrea is first Commercial Director and then CEO. In 2014 he founded and became CEO of Samandel S.p.A., an ESCo that deals with the development and implementation of projects and solutions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable sources.
Economist, he is specialized in strategy and finance in the energy and environmental industries both at an academic level and at a professional one. Consultant of major companies, associations and institutions about energy, environment, public utilities and infrastructures, he is one of the major Italian experts in the energy and environment matters. Graduated with honors at Bocconi University, he was researcher at Space Bocconi, since its establishment in 1990, in joint venture with Boston Northeastern University. Then, professor in many courses and master about energy and environmental management. He is the scientific Director of Irex Monitor, a think tank on the renewable energies industry, he is the Director of WAS – Waste Strategy, research center on waste management and recycling sector and of Top Utility, observatory on top public utility. He is specialized in energy industry, utilities, waste management and recycling. He is author of several publications and a member of scientific committees or referee of various magazines. Member of the Renewable Industry Advisory Network of IEA, the International Energy Agency in Paris, member of REN21 of the ONU, the International Association for Energy Economics, the Italian Association for Energy Economics and of the Shared Value Initiative.
Board Member of ITALIA SOLARE, Rolando is graduated in Building Engineering-EU Architecture, specialized in the design of plants from renewable sources and energy efficiency (Energy Management Expert certification according to UNI 11339). In 2006 he founded the company Enerworks Europe which develops projects for the photovoltaic sector and performs specialist consultancy in the industrial and tertiary sector. He teaches on issues related to Energy Management on behalf of some University.
Mauro started operating in the photovoltaic field in 2004, when he founded Moroni & Partners, a company that became a leader in the field of technical due diligence, engineering and management, optimization of energy performance for energy plants. Moroni & Partners with over 8GW of experience is the main Italian operator, it is based in the UK, Australia and Morocco, and it has successfully operated in over 20 countries worldwide. In August 2019, the company became part of Kiwa Group, one of the global leaders in Testing, Inspection and Certification.
Diego Percopo is the CEO of EF Solare Italia. He graduated in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Studies Federico II in Naples. In 1997 he began his career in Ernst & Young. He worked in Bain & Company from 1999 to 2009. After some important experiences in various industrial sectors (transports, media, private equity), he approached Practice Enegy&Utilties becoming Senior Manager. He was the CEO of Holding Fotovoltaica S.p.A. (the leading Italian PV operator merged from F2i into EF Solare Italia). He had managed the start-up and the growth of this company. During his career he has worked with the top management of the main Italian sector operators (from conventional electricity generation to RES, from distribution to sales, from environmental services to water cycle) dealing with strategy, extraordinary transactions, organisation and operational improvement.
REM’s CEO and founder, PhD Giuseppe Mastropieri thanks to his 15 years’ experience in energy consultancy has acquired an in-depth and widespread knowledge of the Italian and european renewable energy industry. During his career Mastropieri provided advisory services in more than 400 investments projects, accounting about 4 GW of power for a financial value of 5 billions Euro. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering achieved at University of Padua and he is currently teaching as a contract professor at University of Bologna. Mastropieri is expert valuator selected by EC European commission’s IEC Accelerator (SME instrument) promoted within Horizon 2020.

Chairman 2020 Global Solar Council, CEO of The Green Consulting Group, Director of GreeningTheIslands.net. After spending some years in the area of sales and project management for some companies such as Parke-Davis, Capsugel, Wilkinson Sword, Warner Lambert, Tetra, and others, he has been a leading figure in the energy sector since 2000, first as External Affairs Director in the Italian Division of BP then as MD for BP Solar Italy. President of Assosolare (Italian PV Industry Association) for three consecutive terms. He has negotiated the five Feed-in Tariffs arrangements with the Government which have caused the PV installed capacity to grow from 0,035 GW to more than 18 GW. He has also chaired the group of solar energy enterprises in the Industry National Committee of the Ministry of the Environment and has been one of the founders of the Global Network of National PV Associations (NNPVA) in 2007, and in 2015 of Global Solar Council, the unique global association representing the solar PV industry.
Graduated in Agricultural Sciences, after a brief experience in university research, he has been in Confagricoltura since 1985. He has held various positions in the economic sector, until he became head of the Environment and Territory Area in 2008. He currently directs the Sustainable Development Area of Confagricoltura with issues related to Climate – Energy, Bioeconomy, Circular Economy, Research and Innovation, and more generally to issues related to the relationship between agriculture and the environment.
Marco Martorana has been working for UniCredit Leasing since 2009 as Energy Specialist for the renewables and energy efficiency sector. He has been Head of Renewables Competence Center Italy, Energy Asset Manager for the Italian RES portfolio, currently is Energy & Equipment Product Development Manager. Before joining UniCredit Leasing, he has worked as consultant in the Energy & Environment market. He has a Postgraduate Degree in Environmental Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
