He has 25 years’ experience in advocacy, policy research, thought leadership and campaigning on a wide variety of sustainability, energy and environmental issues. He was Head of Climate Change for the Environment Agency, providing advice to UK Government on climate change mitigation and adaptation, led successful advocacy for the Green Investment Bank at Green Alliance, global aviation research for the Committee on Climate Change, and major contributions to debate on energy regulation, environmental taxation and low carbon policy at the Institute for Public Policy Research.

Giles Clark is an experienced solar investor and entrepreneur who has been working in the solar industry since 2006. He was a founder and CFO of SunRay Renewable Energy which was PE backed and acquired by Sunpower for $277m in 2010 and CEO of Primrose Solar in the UK which built and sold 253 MWp of utility scale ground mounted projects. Sunray Renewable Energy developed and built the cluster of projects at Montalto di Castro which was, at one point, the largest project in Italy. He also has non-executive board level experience at other succesful businesses in the solar and other sectors. Giles is currently developing a large portfolio of solar and wind projects in Greece
Francesco Girardi is Senior Director of Bluefield Partners, investment advisory firm. Francesco is also Chairman of Bluefield Services Ltd and Bluefield Operations Ltd which he founded respectively in 2015 and 2017. Francesco is responsible for the company investment activities in Europe. Francesco is seasoned executive and has worked in solar industry since 2005 gaining professional experience in multinational companies operating in the Renewable Energy Sources sector where he assumed increasing responsibilities roles. He has proven experience and track record in start-up activities of NewCos operating in renewables, mainly photovoltaic. Francesco holds a MEng in Electronics Engineering from Polytechnic University of Bari and is Chartered Engineer.
REA's managing partner and founder, PhD Giuseppe Mastropieri thanks to his 15 years' experience in energy consultancy has acquired an in-depth and widespread knowledge of the Italian and european renewable energy industry. During his career Mastropieri provided advisory services in more than 400 investments projects, accounting about 4 GW of power for a financial value of about 5 billions Euro. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering achieved at University of Padua and he is currently teaching as a contract professor at University of Bologna. Dr. Mastropieri is also Board Member of Elettricità Futura.

Mattia, after an experience in RSE where he was involved in the analysis of performance and the characterization of photovoltaic systems, began to deal with the electricity markets and the optimization of the sale of energy from renewable sources. Thanks to the experience and to the international team of DXT Commodities, it proposes to the producers of renewable production plants effective management solutions and optimization of revenues deriving from the sale of energy.
Since the very beginning, Conor has been one of the driving forces of planning and development at Lightsource. As Director of Business Development, Conor has been responsible for the development and acquisition of all our large-scale solar projects in the UK and Ireland, including a ground-breaking floating solar installation. In his previous role as Director of Acquisitions, Conor used his wide experience in the public and private planning sectors to continue Lightsource’s development and expand our diverse portfolio including managing our land business and acquisitions in the UK. In 2017 he established Lightsource BP operations in Australia, before returning to the UK. Currently heading up our Development teams across Europe, Conor’s expansive knowledge of the solar industry is crucial in cementing Lightsource BP’s role as a global energy leader.
Massimo Carnelos is since March 2018 the Head of the Economic Section of the Italian Embassy in London and he sits in the Board of the Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as Alternate Director for Italy. He is the Honorary Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Kingdom and an expert and member of the contact group of the NewMed Research Network. He worked at the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE and at the Press Office of the Council of the Ministers of the European Union. He also worked at the Council of the Ministers of Italy and in 2001 joined the Italian Foreign Service. As a career diplomat, he served at the Middle East Desk, at the Office for International S&T Cooperation and at the Policy Planning Unit. He was stationed at the Italian Embassies in New Zealand, Cyprus and Iraq, always as Deputy Head of Mission.
